Model United Nations

Student Organizations Activism

Model United Nations is an experiential way of learning the ways of the United Nations. We meet on a biweekly (weekly if needed) basis to improve our skills in diplomacy, decision making, and communication skills. Moreover, we work each semester to prepare ourselves for Mock United Nations conferences, where we work with other "representatives" to solve global issues through diplomatic methods. Model United Nations engages students across multiple disciplines to work and collaborate with peers on topics like nuclear disarmament, healthcare, and global crises. As an RSO we improve the decision making, communication, and research skills of our members. Being the strong liberal arts school that we are, Model UN is just one of the many multidisciplinary amenities IWU has to offer. We foster a community of global thinkers. Our organization is centered around analyzing and determining global issues and solutions. By doing this, we take Illinois Wesleyan students out of the comfort of Bloomington normal and create progressive, creative, global thinkers.

Meetings: We'll meet weekly or bi-weekly depending on when our conferences are scheduled. A meeting time and location is TBD.
