Philosophy Club

Student Organizations Academic

Philosophy Club is a group open to anyone with a passion for philosophy and discussion. We get together to discuss topics ranging from current events and philosophical puzzles to the ethical value of superpowers. We are always looking for new voices and opinions to add to the conversation, so visitors and newcomers are always welcome! We most commonly meet for Phunch or Philm. Phunch (Philosophy Lunch) meets in the northwest corner of Tommy’s to discuss topics philosophical topics over lunch. Philm (Philosophy Film) screens a movie that explores provocative concepts for the club to watch and then discuss. Prior screenings include The Dark Knight V for Vendetta, Children of Men, Being John Malkovich, Artificial Intelligence, and Waking Life. Meeting times for Philm and Phunch are posted to the club’s Facebook page. SPIE also occasionally organizes trips to attend philosophy talks and conferences.

Membership requirements: Just a passion for philosophy and discussion!
