The IWU Pre-Health Club is an organization of students interested in any field of healthcare who meet regularly to learn more information about different healthcare specialties. The Pre-Health Club hopes to inform students of the aspects of different specialties in the healthcare field and how to get involved in these fields as an undergraduate student along with tips regarding further education, and the lifestyle of these fields. Other goals/activities: A community of students interested in health care who support each other, discuss classes healthcare schools require, discuss clubs and opportunities pre-health students should partake in, set up hours to group volunteer, invite health care professionals or other informative guests, and keep members updated on health opportunities in the community and current healthcare news. Introduce each other, go over what specialties everyone is aspiring to be Support/mentor First Years Discuss classes that medical schools require to be accepted Discuss clubs and opportunities pre-medicine students should join Set up hours to group volunteer @ Advocate Bromenn (and/or other places) MCAT prep Invite local physicians who are alums/ or other informative guests Provide information regarding different medical schools and different specialties one can be as a doctor Provide a social gathering place for this community of students Discuss classes we enjoyed taking that they should take Discuss research opportunities on and off campus Keep updated on medical opportunities in the community and current healthcare news.
Meetings: We'll meet twice a month. Most likely in CNS.
Membership requirements: No- students interested in healthcare are recommended, but anyone is welcome.
