Mock Trial

Student Organizations Academic

Through engaging in trial simulations in competition with teams from other institutions, students develop critical thinking and public speaking skills, as well as a knowledge of legal practices and procedures. The organization functions under the American Mock Trial Association which serves as the governing body for intercollegiate mock trial competition. The club is meant to give students an introduction to trial law and legal procedures. It helps those interested in the field of law to explore career paths early on. Additionally, the process of both developing a prosecution and defense to the same case helps people to fully develop arguments, work on their feet, and develop practical public speaking skills required to be an active citizen.
